QUICK AND EASY NAAN BREAD PIZZAS

February 7, 2023 by Liz Leave a Comment

Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

These are super quick and easy to make with items you’ll probably already have in your store cupboard. They make a great lunch and can be ready in under 20 minutes.

Naan bread pizza

The kids especially love these naan bread pizzas. They are so easy to make, are very budget friendly and filling. Why not get the kids to help you make them? I try to keep a couple of naan breads in the freezer and passata in my cupboard so these are always a stand by meal that can be whipped up in no time. I’m sure after you’ve tried them you’ll wonder why you ever spent so much on frozen pizzas.

Why you should cook this

Very quick and easy

Budget friendly

Filling and delicious

Variations

There are a number of ways you can switch up this recipe according to your tastes. Here are some ideas to try!

  • Use any toppings you like and make them vegetarian by leaving out the meat.
  • Try half cheddar and half mozzarella for extra cheesy flavour.
  • You can use pitta bread or tortillas instead of the naan – try wholemeal for extra fibre.
  • Try serving with a side salad or coleslaw for extra veg.

Troubleshooting

Why is the pizza base soggy and floppy?
You may have put too much sauce on the base and let it sit too long before putting it in the oven. Or you may have overloaded it with too many toppings.

Ingredients Notes

Pizza ingredients

Naan bread – use ready made that you find in the supermarket. You can use frozen and will need to cook it for a few more minutes in the oven.

Mozzarella – it’s best to use the grated kind of mozzarella instead of the fresh ball.

Passata – if you don’t have passata then chopped tomatoes is also fine.

Pesto – I like to use the red pepper pesto but you could also try it with the green if you prefer.

Step by Step

Preheat your oven to 180C.

Pizza sauce

In a bowl combine the passata, garlic powder, pesto, dried herbs and salt and pepper.

Place the naan bread onto a baking tray and spoon the mixture over the naan bread evenly.

Add your chosen toppings and sprinkle the grated mozzarella on top.

Place in the oven and cook for 7 to 10 minutes (12 to 15 minutes for a frozen base), until the base is crispy on the edges and the cheese has fully melted. Serve.
